I'm mean, it pretty much gives Homeland Security the ability to arrest or kill anyone carrying a bottle of liquid and it comes at a time when the powers that be seem to be trying to start a large scale conflict in the middle east.

why all the insults? I asked a legitimate question. It wouldn't be the 1st time a terrorist attack (or threatened attack) was staged by the US government or our allies.

how do any of you know this threat was real and not just made up?

From the news reports I have heard, the details are too exact to be imaginary, but I strongly suspect the timing. I am worried about this being used as a tool to step up the violence in the middle east. The best scenario is that this event is being used to scare the population into bringing Dubbaya's approval rating above a weak 33%

Until now, it hasn't come to wanton killing of people holding bottles of liquid, unless the person killed will be of Arabic descent or Muslim.

talking as someone contained in the united kingdom media... ...certain, there have been diverse screwups at present, yet this seems very very equivalent to the actual deal. in certain the houses in Birmingham and some surrounding woods are protecting certain pastime for the united kingdom's infant Grissoms and far of guys in white CSI matches operating round. for sure, if it truly is a screwup (and that's more effective likely to be a royally grand screwup than a conspiracy - governments are nowhere close to sensible, gifted or inventive adequate to pull off a number of the stuff that Rense followers believe they could), then an undesirable lot of persons are going to be very justifiably indignant. finally, the clarification you've not heard a lot about the closed uk plots is that both they're searching ahead to trial or the trial has been D-spoke of (ie: we are able to not record on it. this can look like decrease on freedom of the click - besides the undeniable fact that that's actual to guarantee a honest trial, because jurors heavily isn't stricken with the help of media hypothesis. And to be problem-free a hell of a large type of what's been written, printed or TX'd contained in the finest 24 hours is guesswork.)

No it is not. Terrorist scares have going on longer than you think. Come on where you in the 1970's. I was a baby but I know my history. Besides that Homeland Security is also under the same Constitutional scrutiny just like the police and the Military. You have to have probable cause to shot and kill someone. In fact haven't you heard of the dirty bombs? What about Napalm. Give me a break the terrorist can make bombs very cheaply.

There are some quite specific details being released so it looks like there really was something planned. However the threat level was only raised after arrests had been made and Tony Blair has not returned from holiday despite the fact that this was known about in advance so it looks like the politicians are trying to use this for their own benefit.

You're obviously in the States. If you were over here in England you'd appreciate the sheer manpower put into this current investigation and the heightened levels of security around all UK airports. If this is 'BS', which I don't believe for a second is, then a whole lot of the authorities' time has gone into crippling the airlines who have grounded most of their flights and doubtlessly lost millions of pounds in doing so, jeopardising jobs within the industry. High price to pay for a wind-up don't you think?

the more this story gets built up (by our propaganda machine, the media) the less interest i have.

i've never fallen for the whole terrorist alert levels, there's NO difference between yesterday and today.

none.

i come from the camp that YES there is a HUGE HUGE picture to observe where conspiracy may run rampant.

this is no joke, society has been under control for ages and we've been in makeshift wars for 100s of years!

nobody still believes war is necessary do they? unless of course you are a believer in population control.

I want to know how Blitz_H found out about the Bush earthquake in California. We just placed the TNT in the San Andreas fault line. It is set to go off when Bush and Condi get married in Iran. Be careful, there's a conspiracy behind every bush.
Well, if she can ill informed, why can't I?

Keep thinking that way, and you can start learning the Koran. It is Iran who is pulling the strings on the Middle East, and Russia who is pulling Iran's strings. The former U.S.S.R. may have changed their name, but not their game.
