im just wondering what makes them attracted to the same sex...was it bad relationships, child molestation.....what makes you gay? simply a choice is not sufficient...i cannot choose to be gay because i do not find males attractive....so what makes gay people gay?

Gay people are born gay just like straight people are born straight. It is not a choice. Would you choose to be born into a sexual identity that would mean you'd be tormented, forced to live a life "in the closet," and possibly be beaten up and/or killed just because others think you are perverted? Of course not.

I am getting tired of this question.

If you would have asked me when I was 16 I would have told you I was straight and that being gay was a choice.

If you would have asked me when I was 19 I would have told you I was bi-sexual and I liked having options.

If you would have asked me when I was 25 I would have told you I was gay because I loved a gay man.

I am now 38 and I will tell you that I am a man who loves a man because he is the perfect match for me. I am gay, because humans need to label everything to understand it.

I wasn't molested, I wasn't dropped on my head, I didn't have a bad relationship with my father, I didn't have an overbearing mother so none of those things made me gay.

Now to get over the political part of it. There is a study that says gay men's brains are wired differently than straight men, lending credibility to the "born" with it argument. But also raising the spector that it can be "cured". But if you are going to "cure" homosexuality, what is next? Left-handedness?

Honestly most of us have no idea what makes us gay. While it is true that some women have been molested at a young age, and are therefore afraid of men sexually, this is the exception, not the rule. This is why most scientists believe that it is something biological. There is probably something in our DNA that makes us this way.

Aside from one or two fruitcakes, every gay person I've ever known has come from a good home. Most have very conservative backgrounds, but because of their sexuality they become liberal.

Just a quick question, what do you think makes you straight? Just curious...

Its the beauty which makes them to attract the same sex, as a gay you would admire a guy who is more beautiful than you and you will have an desire to have a relationship with him provided if he agrees with you, though I'm not a gay but I've heard from gay people that not only for attraction they also have sex for their satisfaction to come out of their sexual emotions, it is also another way of having sex with a guy rather than a girl.

this question is getting old. google it and read the research so you don't get biased answers from either side. Although, being gay, I can tell you that I've always known I was gay. I don't know why but that's just who I am. I've had crushes on boys since I was like 6 lol

I believe there is a genetic difference in our chemical make up - I saw a study on 20/20 but am not all that into science so I could not explain it very well. Basically I heard that we have an extra chromosome.........not sure exactly how accurate the study was but it makes sense to me as most people indicate they always felt gay - even if they tired to hide those feelings early on in life.

I'm gay because I'm attracted to men, being gay doesn't come from being tramatized.

You can't demand answers, you have to accept some things are really hard for people to explain, turn ons for example.

For the longest time I thought it was all in their mind, but now I'm leaning towards maybe a genetic mutation. I firmly believe that God would not make a person that way. But then why would people choose to be that way, to have to put up with all the criticism.

None of us chooses to be gay. We are born gay.

Think about what makes you straight? Same issue.
