I know there are others in this English genre, I am American but these bands(minus Oasis) had a profound effect on my youth. Can't forget Echo and the Bunneymen, Wire and Television.

The CURE, hands down...The Smiths are great too...Only Oasis' 'Whats The Story Morning Glory' is worth talking about.
