Leather dress shoes! Its the upper rubbing against the sole. Soap fixes it. Try a liquid hand soap and put a little where the sole meets the upper, in that crack. Walk around and let it work in, wipe away the rest. It should work.

*lol* My goodness. I had a pair of shoes that did that. The soles were rubber and, rather than making it solid rubber, it was hollow with supporting dividers. one of those got a hole in it, and the air pushing out against the floor was making that sound. I filled it with glue. Find out where the rush of air is escaping and make sure to get it covered/filled.

I had several pair of sandals that did that and it was because I have such a high instep that whenever I would walk the air would rush from my instep out and make that noise. At least that's what my story is.

Return it to the store, it may be that pair. It happened to my dad. The other pair was perfect.

If that isn't an option try taking them to a cobler (shoe repair). They should know what to do. It might be something really small like just adding one tack.

Try riding your bike down a steep steep hill and scrap your new shoes to try to stop. That'll fix those annoying farters.
