It was a mini series called the Bangkok Hilton, where she played an Australian woman called Kat Stanton who gets fitted up by a lothario Arkie Ragan to carry drugs, found guilty and sentenced to death in Bangkwan, The BIg Tiger, Bangkok's notorious prison. It also starred Denholm Elliot and Hugo Weaving and was pretty harrowing especially the machine gun scene. It's available on DVD now and one of the better things that Nicole has done.

Think you must mean Bangkok Hilton - a kind of "Midnight Express" story where Nicole Kidman gets caught, unwittingly smuggling drugs. Her long lost father (Denholm Elliott) battles for her freedom.
No idea about the music though.

the series name was bankok hilton, and was showen in the early 90's. can't help you with the music,sorry.
