I want to learn about simple sensors that might trigger a sound inside a music storage device when that sensor detects the device. It is for teacing purposes.

the sensor would be static. It would sense movement above it triggering a prerecorded sound to play. Say for e.g. you had people walking around a museum, they are wearing MP3 players which have a series of sounds. When they walk past an exibit they here a sound that relates to the exibit. Get me?

schlierkamp needs to learn how to use the watch list.
Do you really want a sensor to trigger a sound, or be triggered by a sound? For the later, a microphone qualifies. For the former, what is the sensor sensing?

Absolutely. I'm not an electronics whizz, but you can probably buy a small kit from Maplin.

yes in c language you have singal code which can actually triggers sound :)
