Actually I've found that a humidifier works better from my symptoms.

There's a tea that you can get at most grocery stores called "Breathe Easy" http://www.traditionalmedicinals.com/?id=28&pid=1

Chewing the Altoids Peppermint Gum helps to open up the airways.

Drinking a cup of Coffee helps because the caffiene is chemically similar to theophylline.

Some other options involving essiential oils are at this link http://www.best-home-remedy.com/asthma-home-remedies.html

Another thing to try is to increase your Vitamin B intake, specifically B6 and B12.

Hope this helps. I will say that in my case I have never found anything herbal or natural that works as well as traditional medicine.

No.

None of these so called "alternative treatments" work. They are just rubbish sold to the desperate and the easlily fooled.

A dehumidifer will make things worse, as they will eventually cause dry areas in the respatory system. Why do you think asthmatics are put on humidifed air in the ITU?

If you want to improve your ( or someone else's) asthma, get them a good peak flow meter, the the most suitable prescription medication(s) and some gentle (but consistant) exercise.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

I used this with my son who had asthma and would get bronchitis......
Put him in a steaming bath...ovbiously not hot enough to burn him.......but keep him in there for as long as I could and put drops of eucalyptus oil in the water. Breathing the steam with the eucalyptus opens up the airways. Also taking bromelain caps on an EMPTY stomach will reduce inflammation. You cannot OD on bromelain, but the empty stomach is important, otherwise it acts as a digestive aid.
