Let me get this straight, if a person who is christian kills, rapes or does some atrocity - goes to church to his priest and into the confession box, says 'father i have sinned....' the priest says 'say so many hail maries and your sin will be forgiven'. Isnt he a sin eater and isnt he the one going to go to hell for all the sins which HE himself cleanses off the people who sinned? (while the real sinner gets off scot free and ends up in haven). If this is true, then no wonder there are so many crimes in the world. Am I right in this assumption?

No no no no. The reason that he is a priest is that he is given supernatural powers from the most hight so that he can eat sins and they will be turned into good deeds.

1st - christians do not have a priest, catholics do. After that its all meaningless.
2. assuming you mean pastor, which most do not confess sins to, its still meaningless since christians repent(confess and turn away from sin) to God not to a man.
3. God will not be mocked, the one who thinks I can sin now and repent later will not be forgiven and the guilt of his sin remains on him.

Going to a priest does not cleanse one of sin and God does not honor that system so its all meaningless. Thats why there is so much evil in the world. Mankind is sinful to his/her core and confessing to a priest is an empty gesture.
My apologies to those who may find this offensive.

God is the only one who can forgive sins. And what you are describing is a Catholic ritual that non-Catholic Christians do not practice. I believe that I must make my confession to God and God alone. I was raised Catholic. I believe it is wrong to pray to Mary. She is the mother of Jesus, but she is not God. She cannot forgive my sins. However, I don't believe the priest takes on the sins he "forgives." He is not a "sin eater." I believe that God can forgive anything He wants to if the sinner is truly repentant.

The sin if forgiven, but the sinner still has the obligation to
