That story has been done before. It's called the Bible - the disease is sin and the baby Jesus Christ. It's not fiction. And what's even better - we know the ending.....Salvation!!

I am going to assume that you are talking only about humanity. I would say let the people die off. Our planet would be a lot better off there were no people to ruin the environment. In a few years there wont be much left anyway. At the rate we are polluting the world our great grandchildren will have little left to ruin. It seems like we are a sort of cancer. Everything we touch we destroy.

Isn't this the actual situation with stem-cell research?

The whole world doesn't have nerve regeneration problems, but that is at least one group that needs virtually a dead baby to harvest the cells to effect the cure.

That is ghoulish. As far as limiting salvaging tissue to failed in-vitro fertilizations, it makes better sense to stop all such fertilizations and therefore eliminate the potential dilemma,.

I think it would be sacrifice the few to save the many. Think about 9/11, the government has admitted that if they had known about the hijacked planes earlier, they would have taken them down before they reached New York City.

People who believe in God do not believe it is necessarily up to humans to decide who is to be saved. Neither do they necessarily believe they have any right to choose who will be saved.

The whole world would just have to die. Apparently, that would be God's will.

rukidding, you're such a drama king/queen.

The question says "what if".

Anyways, if something like that happens, to save humanity, we need to make sacrifices.
