I like Rowling, she writes a good detective novel wrapped up in a world of fantasy. She combines philosophy into her Harry Potter series as well, making her books into cult status amongst her older readers who see more to her books than just witch craft and fun. That can been seen in book six in which I really call it the making of a dictator, since book six is really all about Voldermort. So really out of the two I like Rowling for those reason I have stated above.

Yeah, J.K. Rowling is a much better writer... Harry Potter books are much more suspensful than any Goosebumps book I ever read! I only read R.L. Stine when I was like 7 or 8, I think Rowling has more appeal for a greater age range, because adults like her books as much as the children do! Stine's books were all so predicatable and childish.... The only reason I liked those where the "Goosebumps" on the covers of the books! (remember, they were all bumpy? lol)

FYI Everyone, Stine didn't write Lord of the Rings, so I don't know why you are talking about it. Lord of the Rings was written by J. R. R. Tolkien.

When I was younger age 10-13 I loved RL Stine and all the goosebumps books because they seemed like the kind of stories that maybe just maybe could happen. Now that I am older (21) I have started to read a wider variety of books and have found the JK has a much more worldly way of writting and makes reading a lot more fun the RL ever did.

Me for sure!
They can't even be compared. J.K Rowling has the record of the bestselling books and she is the only one who keeps on breaking her own record.
The Harry Potter series is just magnificent and no book of that sort can ever compete with it.

i personally like J.K. rowling better than r.l. stine, for a number of reasons. 1) i like harry potter better the LOTR, 2) JK is a better story teller than RL is, and 3) i like jk better than rl.

the last one is stupid, i know.

Easily--Rowlings books are interesting, thought provoking, and visionary. Stine's books were interesting when I was 7, but aren't any longer--and some of them are carbon copies of each other.
