I believe they will go all the way.
2 things you need to consider.
1) Mike Maroth.
When he gets back form re-hab, he is going to be fresh and pick up where he left off.
2) Jim Leyland.
He has the experience and leadership to take The Tigers all the way (aka 1997 Marlins).
This team is a good mix of seasoned veterans and young talent.
Jim Leyland will make sure that the players are prepared for each game, regardless of who they play.
I hate people who say The Tigers dont have the experience needed to go all the way. That is just a crock of BS!
Jim Leyland is all the experience they need.
This season is too magical to end at just winning the Division.
The baseball Gods are finally smiling on us.
And should they not go all the way, I'd be grateful for what they have done so far this season.
I am trying not to get my hopes too high, but the World Series is well within our reach.
Whatever happens, though I am enjoying this very magical season.

I love what the Tigers have done, but I honestly think they are still too young to go far in the playoffs. IF the White Sox make it to the playoffs, I think they are the team to beat. The Yankees are the Yankees. If they make it in, they are always a tough team to beat. Personally, I don't see the Tigers making it past the first round. However, they will be around for many years to come with the young pitching staff they have. I'd say they will win the WS in the next 3 years.

I'd like to see the Tigers win after all those years of futility, but they are following the same path as other Detroit teams this year - best record, early exit from playoffs. As long as ChiSox, Red Sox, or Yankees go down, I'll be happy.

I'm a Mets fan, and we have a great team this year. They will probably meet and beat the Cardinals in the National League series....
The Tigers have a great record, but isn't their team very young? Even though, I hate the Yankees, I think their experience may carry them through the playoffs and into the World Series. I hate to think that though. Even if the Tigers do make it to the world Series, can they handle the playoff pressure? Especially when playing in New York?
I think the Mets will win it this year, no matter who they play in the World Series.

You guys have been waiting a looooong time (since 1984, right?) for a playoff team in Detroit, but it looks the TIgers are going to put and end to that this year. I don't think they will go all the way, though. There are just too many strong, playoff tested teams in the AL this year. The Yankees manhandled them in a 4-game series earlier this year in Detroit. Those are the types of tests they'd have to pass first before I consider them a favorite to "go all the way."

Detroit is an exciting team to watch considering their amazing pitching and stellar offense. Who knew!? I've heard they were initially predicted by most baseball pundits to finish near the bottom of the heap. Now, they even got the mighty White Sox biting their nails. As far as reaching the World Series though, tough call, considering the lack of post season experience. So I gotta go with PART OF THE WAY.

I would have to say part of the way. Their biggest question is if the starting pitching will hold out. No matter what people say good pitching will overshadow good hitting. Lots of question marks in the rotation with no one having a large amount of playoff experience. Closer is another problem. Todd Jones is getting older and has made a lot of appearances this year.

As a fellow Michigander I've been waiting for this season since the 80's. Let's hope they go all the way. Go Tigers!

The way they have played this year I would not bet against them. They have some good young arms and are holding their own against teams like the A's, Twins, Red Sox, Yankees, White Sox etc and are playing witha lot of confidence. If they can keep their composure come playoff time they just may win it all!

I think they will make it all the way to the WS, then lose to the NY Mets. I hope the Tigers win it all, however. What a fantastic story it has already been.
