i've been looking for some french music for about 3 weeks now. i've only find about 3 artists Mes Aieux, Zazie, and Tryo. do you know of anyone else?

You can get Radio NRJ and hear what is popular in France. I will look on my work computer where I have some sites bookmarked and try to edit this answer later to help you out more.
There are compilation CDs (French café, Paris, French Caribbean, French playground--children's music) by Putamayo (sp?) record company at coffee shops and the big bookstores (Borders, Barnes and Nobles) which can give you a taste of both old and new French music, and see what artists you like.
You can also browse on French iTunes, and hear clips of songs, although you can't buy from them from the US (boo!, boo!), but you can then go to amazon.com or amazon.ca (Canadian) and order what you like.
