The very short answer is that Vandalism is a way of marking one territory (no pun intended) and gaining notoriety within the small pear group. It is also a means to express rebellion against the status quo.

Kids have no rights. In american law children are basically their parents property. We put them in schools that gives them no respect. We treat them as less than human. Ever heard of the golden rule? Treat others as we want to be treated. We treat our kids horribly. So they treat us and our stuff and as we treat them. Kids cannot run their own lives, they have no power. So breaking this rule, that doesn't really hurt anyone, gives them a way to feel in control. I don't see happy well adjusted kids doing grafitti.

I have never seen that happen and I'm a teenager. Other than trespassing on others property and the occasional littering. I think your exaggerating.

I agree with you on this one. Especially the ones who spray paint graffiti on everything.
