I have my VCR hooked up to my tv card thro' AV in and record tv and vc tapes onto very successfully, but as previously mentioned very CPU hungry and memory, best done overnight or in your absence when you need no further computer use. I transferred all my old VCR family tapes to DVD.

Can't e-mail you your addy not confirmed.

You need to "record" the video tape into your computer's hard drive. You should have gotten some sort of a video recording/capturing software that will let you do that. Just to let you know, this is going to puta huge strain on your resources. Even recording only two hours worth of DVD quality movie, quite possible editing it, and then converting it to DVD format to burn, will take a looooong time and huge portions of your hard drive. So be ready for a very slow computer. You won't be able to do much of anything else while this is being done. Just to let you konw, they recording is going to have to be done in real time.

Your card should have come with a video capture program, hook up the vcr to the capture card and run the program.
