Possibly a bruised or fractured coccyx or sacrum ( lower end of the spine). The Coccyx bones are fusewd together, and are thus liable to fracture if you sit down heavily or fall on your butt on a hard surface. Sweat collects between the bum-cheeks, so if your hygeine in not good around that area, you could have developed a boil or abcess around that part. (Abscesses can be subcutaneous - below the skin, so you may not be able to see it).
Go see a doctor or nurse-practioner and get it investigated. I know it's the bum, and thus a source of embarrassment, but these medical types also have bums, and have seen it all before.

You could have sprained or injured you tail bone. Yes people do have tail bones. When I started playing hockey, I fell on my butt a lot as a beginner. About a day after i would fall, i would have a huge pain when i walked or sat down. The doctor told me I had sprained my tail bone. Have you fallen lately? If so that is probably what is causing it.

maybe you have knocked your coxix bone ( I think thats spelled wrong ) , its the bone that protrudes from the very base of your spine , and if you have knocked it it will hurt alot because this is a very sensitive area ( think of it as the funny bone part of your elbow , only near your bottom ) . A friend of my wifes broke hers afew years ago and it hurt like nothing else , and had to have it removed ( the broken segment) ...go to a doctor and have it checked out .

Please see an orthopedic doctor asap. You may have damage to your coccyx (spelled correctly) aka the tail bone. Which I hear is very painful.
