No, it's the rising cost of oil. Uncertainty in the world economy is driving the price up. Also the fact that China and India are both using more energy than in previous years, and no new U.S. refineries have been built in decades. Often you pay more in taxes on a gallon of gas than the oil companys make off the sale.

Personally , my family has started to drive less. We plan our trips so that they make sense. If you have business to take care of in one area, think of everything you may have to do in that area for the week or at least a couple of days and do everything. The days I don't have to go to work, I might not leave home. My husband may start taking the train to work some days. But after we've used a full tank, there's nothing left to do but go fill up again. I trust God enough to know that if manage what He's already given me well, He will make a way for me to have whatever I need when I need it-including overpriced gas. And are the oil companies cheating the public--of-course.

Actually if we would all ban together and go on strike we might get through to the oil companies. People say I got to work, but if your coworkers and everyone else every where are on strike to, who will they replace you with? As for food...Stock up on it before the strike. If those jerks who are raising gas prices see that nobody everywhere isn't buying gas, maybe they would lower gas prices.

Yes, Very much so and we are going to keep paying it because we have to get around and gas stations now know they don't have to lower it even if we discover more oil somewhere because we will still pay for it....it's a catch 22. :)

You can always check where the gas is the cheapest in your zip code. That's what I do to save a few bucks...

try alternatives like bike riding, switching to a hybrid vehicle and maybe walk once in a while?
