With a needle, but they'll numb it up first, don't be scared sweetie.

They insert a needle from the back of the knee and extract the fluid. It will hurt for an hour or two then you will notice that your knee isn't bothering you any more. I have had it done several times on both knees, and it's really not that bad. Just turn your head when they are getting ready to put the needle in it does help when you don't look. Hope you feel better soon!

A tap on the head might help! but probably by taking tablets to remove the water.

typically fluid is drained from a joint by using a needle. not a big deal, don't sweat it.
