The vamp(groove) on the devils solo is much better.Johnnys solo is straight forward cliched licks that are famous but easy to play.And Charlie Daniels played them both. And say hi to Anthony for me.

yes but no. the devil had a whole background band to help him sound better but it's not what the deal was. johnny played well on his own so he won. i like the song no matter what though.

Nah, it was too scratchy...but then again I don't think Johnny played very well, either. You'd think they'd at least get someone who played pretty good if he were supposed to beat the devil in a contest.
