My mom and her boyfriend are eco concious but my dad and his family think thats weird. I don't underdtand why it's so bad to do something good for our earth.

I'm not a damn hippie! I dont smoke crack and dress in 60's clothing I just try to conserve energy and save the forests so I can camp there instead of staying in the poluted towns!

And theres a huge diffrence between hippie and someone who cares about the earth. Some people are just so ignorant.

I think it's because it's easier for them to just take advantage of the earth instead of respect and care for it. It takes alot of care and effort to do whats right. But I think it's our responsibility, so I'm weird too....hahaha! normal is boring...LOL was that helpful hon? :)

Hey, it is good to care about our earth!
I recycle and reuse when-ever I can. I buy aluminum cans instead of plastic bottles and have been gathering them up for some time to take to a recycling center.
I don't buy chemicals that aren't safe for animals and the environment either.
It may be unusual only because a lot of people don't care or don't realize that we are harming the earth.
If everyone was more careful, we would have a clean earth full of unique animals and plants in the furture.
I wish that we would be able to use our resources without destroying them all!

there is a difference between Eco Friendly and Eco Terrorist. Most ppl are Eco friendly and cannot see the reason for Eco Terror. I for instance think that there is not enough information for mankind to say he has or has not changed the climate. 100 years of semi complete data against 1 billion years of history is bad science...
That being said I recycle, I try not to waste and I am as Eco Friendly as I am comfortable with...that should be enough for and Eco person to like...if it's not enough then you fall into the Eco terrorist group and you can take your opinion elsewhere...

Most people tend not to like anything that they consider different.
Plus, maybe the other people are just lazy to help take care of the earth?

Things are only 'weird' because they are not the 'norm' which you yourself define. If you are not eco-conscious, then you will find those who are very weird. I'm sure eco-conscious people think you are weird too.
