Don't wait for her to call you. You call her. I did this with 1 of my daughter-in-laws. She didn't like me at first. After a while she got to know me. Now she calls all the time. Give it time. Keep calling her. Don't offer advise unless she asks for it. Just keep is to the hi how are you questions. But remember, when you ask be sincere. She will spot a phony. Let her know you love her and accept her. She will come around with time.

Are you feeling left out and inadequate as a mother in law? Your dil may just feel that she needs to show her husband she can do it alone or maybe somewhere along the line, someone said something to her and feels that way. Unless you ask her you will never know but then you might be labeled as a meddling mil so its a cathch22 situation. Just be patient and Im sure they havent gotten all of those little marital problems figured out yet and shell need some advice only you can give her. For now just be thankful shes talking to you. So things could be worse. Just remember who knows her husband better than you!

Alot of times its intimidating to be the daughter-in-law. You live in fear of saying the wrong things or making a fool of yourself. Just let her know that you arent a judgemental person and that she can call you anytime for anything. Make her feel comfortable. Then she may call.

Leave tht poor girl alone. She will call if she needs anything. She might not be crazy about you. I dure dont call mine, i love her but i love her more when she is not around me. Why dont you give her a call and ask her how is she doing. Cook something nice and invite her over or just drop it by her house. But dont be bugging that girl cause you might never get a phone call if you do.

I hardly ever call my mom in law.... Its just a little awkward to ask advice about stuff or anything like that. We see her every weekend usually so I just talk to her then.

Most mother in laws resent their daughter in laws for stealing their precious baby boy and it shows..Maybe try being nice to her for a while and she will loosen up

maybe it does not occur to her. i don't call my mother-in-law for anything. i am not her child. she is not my mother. we do not have that kind of relationship. i believe that we are both fine with that. she would be more critical of me than my own mother. and not as forgiving if i should say or ask something that might offend her.

Maybe she feels that you are a threat to her. Do you treat her like your own children? Maybe you did something to her that she doesn't like and she feels that she needs to stay away from you. Talk to her and see what's going on with that situation.

Maybe she doesn't like you? Or maybe you give her the impression that you don't want her to call. Who knows, could be many things.. why not try talking to her about it.
