From lifes' experience, I think WalMart is hard to beat. Keep in mind that most of a students possessions tke a real beating while in school and most of the items you buy will disappear, be thrown away, be destroyed, or be left behind at graduation.

Target - unless the college doesn't have one in that town.
Using a store in your hometown and college town, gives you an opportunity to return/exchange something..

target, wal-mart, bed bath n beyond, ikea. anything w/ cheap stuff! target has a really nice college line.
