dont eat as much

The safest way is not to reduce how much food your eating, but reduce the amount of calories that your consuming in those foods. Also a regular exercise regiment coupled with the lowered caloric intake will show show-stopping results. Honestly, this process doesn't give you results over night, it actually takes a long time, but the results are lasting and you will actually BE healthy instead of just looking it. Any other method that I've seen does more damage than good. Be careful of all those things they sell on T.V and radio that promise to help you lose weight fast, because even if they work, the human heart has to gradually adjust to your weight changes, and these things can put stress on your heart. If you die...you never going to look any better.

A reduction in the amount of fatty, greasy junk foods you eat, more of the good stuff like fruits, vegetables and lean meats - since your diet will make you or break you, and eating healthy is not enough you need to exercise as well - the best exercise to gradually lose weight along with eating well is running/ or some other high intensity cardio (cycling, swimming, running).

I treat myself to a little chocoalte a couple of days a week, otherwise eat healthy with plenty of heart healthy whole grains, low fat, high-protein foods, and combine it with an hours run every morning (slow and steady is fine), and I feel great.

Also, the only 'safe way' is slowly and gradually losing weight: and so starving yourself makes you very ill and actually slows down your metabolism (break down your meals into 5 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones, this will give your metabolism a quick-jump start workout) - so if you stick to a routine like this one you will lose weight gradually and healthily over a few months.

Also if you put on weight in muscle for every 3lbs you put on in muscle (not fat), you burn as much fat as a 1 mile jog. But this isn't what you are looking for since you do not seem into body building just losing weight the healthy way. Drink lots and lots of water.

Develop a reasonable regimen of diet and exercise that you can live with.

Drink nothing but water.

Eat no less than 3 hours before bedtime, and dinner should be your lightest meal.

Get about 30 minutes of cardio no less than 3 days a week, although 5 is better.

It will be easy to get frustrated, because the safest way isn't the fastest way.

There is a million dollar industry trying to make you think that you can lose weight through some magic formula that doesn't involve diet and exercise.

Sweetie, it just ain't so. There's no way around it.

Don't expect overnight results. You didn't get this way overnight and it's not going to go away overnight.

Good luck and Godspeed.

The best way to lose weight is to excercise and eat regulary. Don't eat junk food like greasy hamburgers or french fries. If you want a burger try a boca burger or turkey burger with a wheat bun. Have a couple of eggs in the morning. If your hungry add some oatmeal. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. LOTS. Drink a lot of water (it helps flush out all the bad stuff). Excersice at least 4 times a week for 40 minutes, at least! Eating helps speed up your metabolism, the best time to eat is right after a work out because your metabolism is working the fastest.

First of all, good for you for doing it the right way. Fad diets and pills are extremely unhealthy and do a lot of damage in the long run.

The most important thing is exercise. The more you do it, the healthier you'll be. Your body will start using all the food you put into it, and you'll build lots of muscle, which feeds on fat reserves. It can be any kind of exercise, as long as it gets your heart pumping for at least 30 minutes a day.

Aside from that, just eat a wide variety of things. Listen to your body - a craving is a signal that your body needs a particular nutrient. Depriving it of anything, including things like calories and carbs, will severely damage your health. Fruits and vegetables are great for vitamins and extra energy. Protein is good for building muscle, and carbs are important for breaking down and storing important nutrients. If you don't take in fat, your body won't burn it: fat is an emergency energy reserve, and if you stop taking it in, your body will hold onto it for dear life and instead burn muscle for energy. Cutting calories increases production of a hormone which raises stress levels and makes you crave sugar, so eat plenty of them - you'll burn them off during the exercise anyway.

You can pretty much eat whatever you want, as long as you're getting enough exercise and taking in enough of a variety of foods. Some junk food or fast food will not kill you, and quitting your favorite treat will only make you obsess over it. Go ahead and have it, just not for every meal. ;) And remember, weight is meaningless - muscle weighs more than fat, and as you build muscle you will gain weight even if you're losing body fat. Throw the scale out the window and instead focus on how you look and feel.

Good luck!

Besides the obvious ones of eating less and exercising - EAT HEALTHY! One of the best ways to do this is to eat "real" food. Don't eat prepackaged foods with multiple unidentifiable ingredients. Cook, eat vegetables and whole grains with your meals. Snack on fruit and nuts. Avoid foods with "partially hydrogenated" oils and high fructose corn syrup. Even plain old loaves of bread contain these ingredients. Read the labels, buy the whole food brands (such as Vermont Bread or Matthews) that use basically the ingredients you would have in your own home. It costs slightly more, but spend less on junk. Also, if you eat healthier, you'll find you can eat a little more. Further, a little plain old sugar is alot better than eating chemicals like splenda, sweet & low, and nutra-sweet (except if you're a diabetic of course). Go back to how people stayed fit and healthy in the past.

" A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby withoug exercise. Our Teddy Bear is short and fat. Which is not to be wondered at; He gets what exercise he can by fallin off the ottoman, But generally seems to lack The energy to clamer back.

Now tubbiness is just the thing. Which gets a fellow wondering; And Teddy worried lots about the fact that he was rather stout. He thought: "If only I were thin! But how does anyone begin?" He thought: "It really isn't fair. To grudge me exercise and air."

For many weeks he pressed in vain. His nose against the windo-pane, And envied those who walked about Reducing their unwanted stout. None of the people he could see "Is quite" (he said) "as fat as me!" Then, with a still more moving sigh, "I mean" (he said) "as fat as I!"

Now Teddy, as was only right, Slept in the ottoman at night, And with him crowded in as well. More animals than I can tell; Not only these, but books and things, Such as a kind relation brings - Old tales of "Once upon a time," And history retold in rhyme.

One night it happened that he took A peep at an old picture- book, Wherein he came across by chance The picture of a King of France (A stoutish man) and, down below, these words: "King Louis So and So, Nicknamed 'The Handsome!' There he sat, And (think of it!) the man was fat!

Our bear rejoiced like anything to read about this famous King, Nicknamed "The Handsome". There he sat, and certainly the man was fat. Nicknamed " The Handsome". Not a doubt, the man was definitely stout. Why then, a bear (for all his tub) Might yet be named "The Handsome Cub!".

A bear, however hard he tries, Grows tubby without exercise. Our Teddy Bear is short and fat, Which is not to be wondered at. But do you think it worries him to know that he is far from slim? No, just the other way about - He's proud of being short and stout." - A.A. Milne (original writer of Winnie the Pooh).

There is no miracle pill or magic plan, it really only works with plain old diet and excersize. I have lost 35 lbs by cutting calories to 1200-1500 a day and excersizing a few times a week. But the key is that I am not hard on myself. I tend to eat a little more on weekends, and I allow myself tasty treat, but still try to stay below a certain calorie range. If I miss a workout, I don't hate myself, I'll get one in sooner or later. It's been slow and steady, but I am looking good!

Eat right, and find a place to work out. Curves is a wonderful place for women...you won't have the pressure of guys watching you, and the other women are encouraging rather than judgmental. Half an hour, three times a week should fit easily into just about anyone's schedule, too.
