With all the bottle blondes, I don't think anyones drapes match the carpet anymore. Plus the Brazilians made the bare floor stylish, anyway.

A neutral color for carpeting is the best choice with drapes that pull in the other colors of the room. The reason for that is that you'll get tired of having a blue (or burgundy, yellow, whatever) room and want to change it in a few years. It's more economical if you aren't having to change the carpet then too.

It doesn't matter if they do, but it's best to go with a complementary color and tie it back into your upholstery or throw pillows. If it does all match and you like it, then your style would be a monochromatic style. That works great if you keep everything in the room in the same color palate and then add large bright fresh flowers to draw the eye to color. You can make it work either way. But if you are going for monochromatic style, make sure it looks deliberate. Wood can be painted or restained in a comparative hue, upholstery and picture frames should be similar, but you can be free to jazz up the color palate with some funky pillows or fun accessories.

Some people don't even have carpet, they have a smooth floor. It's cool if your drapes are blonde, but any other color doesn't really matter.

You absolutely MUST make sure that your vacuum cleaner matches your carpet. If not, it's a total failure. Trust me, I'm in the biz and I've read about these things too.

why do you want to do what anyone else like be original and do what you like the best after all your the person , who is going to see the combination every day, happy hunting for mix and match
