just do things you enjoy, like if you like to dance, try a dance cardio class or if you like adventerous things, try hiking or rockclimbing or anything like that...if you enjoy it, you won't mind doing it as much! also, if you try to go to the gym or work out like 3-4 days a week, and try to keep doing it for a month or so, you will be used to going and it should become a habit for you (so you don't feel like its a chore!) i know this was true for me, i had exercised for like a couple weeks here and there in the past, but i would always stop going after that....this time, i started going to the gym in january and made myself go at least twice a week...now its august and i have been going the whole 8 months! i am not always good about going as much as i should, but i do get there at least 2-3 times a week and it shows!!! once you start hearing compliments about your progress, it will also make you feel like keeping up with it!

You dont have to run to get in shape you can do other exercises. Find something you active that you like to do. You can dance, walk, swim, rock climb, etc.
And getting in shape is a matter of will. If you cant force yourself to do it then whos gonna do it for you. Gettting up and doing something about it one day at a time is the start.

I keep a magazine around that has some rediciously thing model on it... and every time I look at it... I want to be that thin and it makes me what to work out...
Remember when you are starting out you can't just start running 10 miles all at once start running like 30 seconds and walking 5 min... and gradually work up to running 10 miles in what ever time limit...

If you're in the right age category and healthy - join the military. Bootcamp was the best thing I ever did to get in shape and get physically disciplined. Better than a personal trainer it's free - there's nothing much more motivating than some company commander screaming in your face to get moving all day long.

Try to find a friend or family member who will work out with you. Or get together with some co-workers and instead of having lunch, go for a walk or run. It is much harder to not go when you know someone is waiting for you and wanting to get started. Set small goals for yourself and reward yourself with each goal, whether it be new clothes, shoes, cd's, or dvd's. Good luck and I hope this helps!

First, Find something to do that you find fun!!! second, get a workout buddy you can both keep the fire lit under your behinds!!
third, remember this....your body is your temple!! You may find it hard going from time to time but as long as you eat right get plenty of activity I see no reason why you should push it to the point you lose enjoyment in it!!

i'll say this: running can be enjoyable. I had a hard time getting started, but now I enjoy it and actually look forward to running. just start off nice and slow. don't push yourself for the first few weeks.
JUST DO IT. NOW. you are only getting older and fatter. DO IT
