To enforce international laws... that is the purpose of the UN.

I do not support a world government for one main reason, they are not elected officials.

While it's a good idea in general, the world is not ready for it.

Just like Iraq is not ready to be a democracy. They don't have the infrastructure, the willingness to work with people who think a different way, or the ability to enforce group decisions on the minorities. They just can't do it, and that form of government isn't going to work until they do.

The same problem applies world-wide. Too many countries are unwilling to work together, and unwilling to accept an externally imposed set of laws. The major super-powers (US and China) can't even enforce their own laws internally, let alone have any hope of enforcing civil rights laws internationally.

The world isn't read to work together for the common good. And there aren't enough forces available to quell the international insurgency that would result if we tried.

But, it would solve the immigration problem. I don't see too many illegal aliens trying to immigrate to earth.

Not a chance. With the current problems in the world and the differences everyone is having a one world government could never happen. Besides that is a socialist/communist ideology we in the U.S. have been living in freedom without for a couple of hundred years. Why would we give up our freedoms for that?

Yes, A revolving Thoecracy. Every eight years we'll switch the leader. We can start with Islam. After the fledgling years of the new new world order the survivors will get together and figure out which religion goes next.

Absolutely not. Government's tendency is to restrict freedom. With only one government in the world, if it becomes totalitarian, there's no escape. Besides, there are too many different opinions about how a government should run for there to only be one option.

In one country, it is a tough job for a government to control its people. What do you think about 1 government for all the world? No.. bad idea.. beside people are different.. you can not unite all the traditions and cultures in one harmonically government..sorry.. but good thought.

Nope,

Muslims and me cannot live under the same set of rules. The UN is the closest we should get to a world government and that is not saying much.

No, individual governments are corrupt enough without establishing a worldwide enforcement of hypocrisies, greed and lies.

Sure.

You can see how well run the UN is. There has never been a case of fraud, favoritism or general incompetence at the UN.

Just what the US needs.
