Actually, the Torah--which is the first five books of the Old Testament--put the Promised land between Egypt and the Euphrates, which means, if you believe that, the Israelis got shafted in 1948. Other than that, there was a lot of debate in the forties on where to settle the Jewish population. There were even suggestions, I've read, to give them land in South America. Instead, thanks partly to the influence of the Democratic Truman Administration, they were placed in the middle of a hostile wilderness surrounded by people dedicated to annihilating them. Hmmm, makes you think, huh?

Interesting.
What & where are these artifacts? What scholars have determined them to be "undenyably"?
Obviously the state of Israel is originally of artificial origin but , so what?! So is Italy - it was once many different kingdoms & principalities. Ireland was also many different kingdoms. Look at the various maps of Africa over the past century. Many countries have come and gone and changed boundries and political affiliations.

The problem with the "Promised Land" is that it was promised to lots of people (or so they claim). The idea that some omnipotent deity is brokering real estate is just stupid.

No. The Isrealite's promised land is not a phony. I don't rely on the media for biblcal matters. In the Bible, God promised them a land(Cannan) and I belive it is real.

If you believe the Bible, then it is not. However, the Israelites/Israelis forfeited the promise; thus, God's disappointment and regrets, especially in latter part of the Old Testament and the teachings of the New Testament. Also see related issue below:
