and then they don't answer the question that you are asking
example--Do you know when (some event) is going to be held and then you explain that you looked up their website and couldn't find the info....then the answers you get range from "look it up" to links to the website that I already said I had just looked up.
Anyone know of a way to get a real answer? Or is it just a waste of time?

I know what you mean. Obviously you didn't have luck when you looked it up and you really need some info. Sometimes people don't really care about giving a correct answer, they prefer to give a quick one which may or may not answer the question. It's not a complete waste of time to ask because some people will really try to help you.

Some people don't have any thing else to do they just want 2 points so they will just write anything. No it's not a waste of time i will answer your question seriously.

Thats a big pet peeve of mine. Kinda like family members who I send emails to asking how they are doing and get a forward back or a dumb chain message. Then they say I never write them back. Write back to what? I asked how you were doing.....and You just told me if I didnt send this to 10 more people I would die.

I think, maybe in your answer you could just say, "Only answers that will help my situation." or just say "I can't find this event or whatever, and that is why I came here to ask, and I don't need another search engine."
