I think the answer depends on how old you are.

For instance, there was this girl that I was smitten with. Her name was Diane and I loved her like I had loved no other girl before. The thing was - we were both in grade four, and I never talked to her - I was shy. So, to go for love then would have been wrong.

Next, was this girl named Joanne. She was in my grade 9 business class. She wore the tightest jeans you could imagine. But what I thought was love was really just lust.

Then during University, I really did love this girl named Hennie. She was wonderful and amazing and all those things, but I was in the middle of school, she lived in a different city. I loved her - it didn't work out and it hurt(s) like hell.

Then in Taiwan - I met Susan. I know I loved her and she loved me. But there were cultural issues - and in the end it didn't work out.

At the age of 30, I'd given up all hope. Then I met my wife. She's pretty cool, and we're married - now for 10 years.

So, to me, love has a lot to do with timing.

How is love a risk?
Why in the world would anyone view love as a risk?

I think the starting point of your perspective is heading the wrong direction the first place.

Yes, the whole reason people get together is to share. Its sort of like if you watch a football game by yourself or if you watch the game with 50,000 people. If your team wins in which situation do you feel the most joy? When your at the game with the 50,000 of course because you get to share the experience. Part of life is learning to balance the joy and the pain that life brings.

Evading situations is not a way of protect yourself. You have to face and experiment your feelings in order to grow up. it hurts, yes, sometimes it does; but, on the other hand, sometimes you get to make children! So, i think it's a risk worth taking.

Love stings and love cares and stands up for you when you're down. Anyway love is you must not stop looking 4 luv.
The only reason why it'll sting so much is 'cos you need to keep looking.

It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all.
