Every 80 yeas (give or take a few) Anglo-Saxon culture goes into a crisis mode that readjust its direction (call it reboot). Every 500 years or so there is a major shift in religious/spiritual thinking. Every 2000 years or so (that is give or take a few hundred) there is a massive shift in culture and civilization. We are now, more or less, at the conjunction of all three of these cycles. We, humanity, has survived such points in the past, we will survive them now, we will survive them in the future. Just remain flexible, be inventive with solutions, keep an open mind to new ideas, and be swift of foot when necessary, you will do fine. We have a future.

Are you out of your mind.
none of the G8 will ever fight each other again. None of them are crazy enough. No one country can cnquer the world through war and countries that do not have madmen running them know that.
Gas prices were inevitable and everyone is just in denial. the only way to fix it is by giving everyone an allowance at $x a gallon. Anything after that will cost you.
The biggest threat you mentioned was global warming..

World War III? There is no such thing. There are currently dozens of conflicts, globally, but that doesn't qualify as a "World War." Do your research on the past two World Wars, and then we can discuss that particular topic. But, as for the rest of it?
Civilization rises and falls in cyclic manner. Are you afraid of the coming Dark Age? I'm not. I either will persevere, or I will die. But, it's nothing to run around all willy-nilly about.

People thought the world was comming to an end with every major war that has occured thus far. Humans are survivors. It's what we do best.
We also have this great ability to alter the eviroment around us. That can help us and hurt us.
Be positive

If we are lucky, the next US gov will not be so blood thirsty and careless about the environment. That can help a bit.
But I would also like to say that China is a big polluter and big consumer of oil and energy and they in addition to the US need to act more responsibility towards the resources we have on this planet.

This question has been asked for thousands of years and we just metamorphasize into some new kind of society. Is society ending as we know it, probably... But then again what was it like one hundred years ago, or even 50, or 500?

The only future plan I see is relocating to Mars which is still not quite possible. I think God is just trying to tell humans that he is still the one in charge, no matter what we do.

As you should. Make responsible personal choices and spread the word. That is about all you can do.
