I asked what everyone thought of the name Covenea for a girl. I love it--however, people on here feel quite the contrary. I like the "Cove" part because it reminds me of the ocean (which I love very much). And as for the "nea" part it looks pretty to me. What do you think? Should I spell it differently? What about Covney or Covnea? It's pronounced Cuv-nee by the way.

I actually kind of like it...now that you mention it, it does kind of remind me of the ocean. I think it's pretty. I like it spelled just the way it is too.

I love unique names, and Covenea is definitely a unique and beautiful name. I love it! Honestly, when i first saw Covenea i thought its pronounced Ko-veh-ni-ah....since you like the Cove part, i say keep it as Covenea, and let your daughter explain how its pronounced. These are some different ways to spell Covenea while keeping the COVE:

Covenie
Coveney
Covenee
Coveniye
Coveniy
Covenii
Coveni
Covenei

that's all i can think of! Cuv-nee is such a cute pronunciation; Covenea is such a beautiful, cute, unique name.

It is your baby, you can name her whatever you like. However, if you chose to give your child a unique name do not get upset with people when they can not pronounce, spell it, or look at you strange when you give the child's name. Also, think about how this child will feel when she is older and has to spell her name constantly or constantly tell people how to pronounce it.

Rule of thumb for naming a baby- always insert it into a this sentence.
"If I don't get my report turned into __________, she's going to fire me."
Covenea doesn't really work there. Unique names are good to a point, but babies aren't babies forever. You also have to deal with a lifetime of misspelling and mispronounciation. Perhaps using it for a middle name would be better.

Quite honestly when I looked at the name it looked like the word Coven, so unless you are Wiccan people might get the wrong idea.

Let's see...5 minutes have gone by and the name is still AWFUL. Please, spare the kid and give her a decent name that can be spelled and pronounced correctly. That is just cruel!!

Honestly, not to be rude, but it sounds like the name of an island to me. I personally don't care for it.
