It's obvious that they get preferential treatment...

Its not always the case. though its true most of the time. But I think the beauty fades away with time. I have a friend.. who is really not very attractive physically, but he is gem of a person. So beautiful at heart. Its time. Once you know a person's heart, you will love them and physical attractiveness doesn't matter any more... See the color in the Eyes not on the face......

That depends. Often, we perceive people as attractive or unattractive due to a purely emotional response. If they are people we know, we feel slighted when less-than-nice people get treated better, while very good people get over looked. Some very pretty people use their looks to get ahead, while some (who are seen as less than pretty) people work very hard and get ignored.

I personally judge people on attitude, behavior, personality and character. If a "pretty" person has an ugly disposition, then they are not pretty in my eyes. I tend to see the ugliness inside and that ruins the surface appearance for me.

Is it fair that "prettier" people get better treatment than those who are seen as less pretty?

No. It is not fair. It never has been, nor will it ever be fair. Life is not fair and it never will be.

Those who are ugly inside but pretty on the surface will get away with a lot, until others get tired of them. Then the next pretty face will replace them.

We can only choose to look beneath the surface and treat people according to their actions. Then we can all benefit from the true beauty within and not be fooled by the superficial.

No, it is of course not fair. Attractive people did nothing to deserve getting preferential treatment. I guess it's just the world we live in, i mean we all treat attractive people better i think. Maybe it's karma, attractive people were teh ugly ones in their past lives and the ugly ones today are going to be the attractive ones tomorrow, if that makes sense. lol. But fat people are treated worse than in shape people, but at least you can control that.

It is unfair. Actually growing up I kind of experienced being treated worse than beautiful people. I was always teased etc. But as time goes by people just started to see the good in me. Good thing I have potentials, at least I have something to compensate for my unattractive looks.

Yeah I know what you mean. I met this girl who is very fat and she gets fired all the time because of it. Now she has no job, she is on a diet and tries desperately to lose weight...so she can ''fit'' in. It's terrible I guess...everyone must be treated equally and with respect. What if a person is not attractive or is fat? He/she may be better than an attractive person. But we have to deal with it...cause it's a tough world out there!

It's not fair but life is not fair to anyone. Is it fair that most people automatically think that attractive people are somehow less intelligent than "so called" unattractive people?

you can't just be good looking and then be mean and stupid and annoying cus that dont make ppl like you. and its very likely u are ugly but you are a fun person so people want to hang out with u. so yea ur personality matters more and beauty is just the first-impression

nothing fair, it's not as if u got to choose what u look like. people need to grow up and realise that life's too short to only acknowledge good lookers, looks fade and when they're old they'll have nothing to talk about.

No, but it isn't fair that rich people get better treatment either.
