BRAVO!

Brilliant question!

Does the computer have a soul that is sucking out my soul? Is the computer (an inanimate object) actually alive? Does the computer feel my vibrations and feeds on them? Many, many questions that only the computer can answer. Will you answer computer? Do you hear me? I really would appreciate an answer.

Maybe the best answer can come from the science fiction writers - you know science fiction sometimes becomes reality and then you will ask what is reality - am I sucking the computer's soul or vice versa.

A Jamaican poet once wrote of a little man inside the machine which secretly governs things although no one believes it.

The computer is inhabited by the ghosts of millions of people who have either programmed the code that makes it run or else introduced strategies for using the computer to solve problems or to steal your money, etc.

Some of those ghosts haunt me at night when I am writing answers to questions or poems which few will ever read or creating all types of pictures to please the few select eyes which bother to see them.

My pet peeve: those &)^()&) data base programmers who let you fill in many screens of forms before telling you something idiotic like your social security number is not your social security number.

Why this strange regurgitation from the computer? Because the blasted (or blessed depending on your pov) programmers are too chicken to say out loud that the offer, since so many people from our lovely island try out every conceivable form of fraud online and off), --->>>

the stupid offer or gift is not available in PR after I have spent hours answering personal questions or giving my opinions on esoteric topics thus spreading my precious, precious personal info all over the galaxy.

Yeah, instead of talking to people you don't know on line, I think the old days was better when people actually knew the next door and they both chilled and talked, played poker, drank beer and talk about cool stuff. Now everyone is using the computer for many wrong reason, like trying to get hook up, trying to find ways to make more money, and looking at boring website.
If you want to get hook up, then the best way to do it is actually meeting more people, plus it is fun to go out instead sitting in front of the screen all day.

Computers mean a lot to me in life and i am almost 24/7 on the net. Especially because i am a student of Computer Science and i have to spend rest of my life around computers.
At times i feel that my involvement with computers has lead me to having a unhealthy life as i am in front of the computers always and rarely exercise.
But then, i guess thats the price i pay for my actions.

Yes, when I stay on it too long it can feel like that. So I make sure I get a lot of physical activity and don't stay on it too long. I've noticed that having an LCD monitor helps a lot, the flicker rate on CRT monitors can hurt your eyes and make you feel like crap.

Not me, I never feel that way. Of course, one must, kind of, use it in a balanced manner, and NOT become addicted to anything in life, including computers. Addiction to anything is bad and gives various kinds of adverse side-effects. Goodnight, ere I become addicted to Yahoo! Answers!!
