The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.
Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.
Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I think they use simple catchs like filling out a survey or getting paid to get valid email addresses or contacts; yes it's a scam. I recommend you never do it.

I've tried a couple times on them and it goes on forever and ever...the survey will never stop! They want you to sign up at different websites and if you click no on it, it will just keep repeating itself when until you do. Then all it does is go to a new list of things you need to sign up for and it will never stop. It's just a rip off. All they do is get your email address and start sending you more junk mail to your in box!

Most are ponzi / mlm / click fraud systems. Technically, mlm can be legit but it still a systems designed to sperarate fools from their money.
If you "get paid to fill out surveys", try to imagine a business model in which a busines pays you to do surveys and makes money themselves. Other than through "questionable" practices.

Nobody's gonna give you an Xbox or Free House or whatever just for completing a survey. Sad world... but it's true.

I've been paid...not much- only about $10-$15 for answering telephone surveys, but they always called me. I've never tried the paper kind.

Hey, I tried a couple of those surveys and when it was time to get paid they said I didn't qualify. So now they all go to my junk mail.

All that is is a email capture so they can get you to sign up to recived offers, that way when they mail you it is not consider span, one more thing they do is sell the email list for other companies to spam you as well.

well there are 2 possibilaties the first one is that they will pay you as granted the second and most probable is that they will ask for your credit card and pin number so that they can give you the money instead they will steal your identity and ride you til your broke
