You really dont. Being on the internet is anonymous for the most part, unless you are viewing them through a webcam or something. You just will never ever know. But unless you are trying to hook up with that person, i guess it really wouldnt matter. If it is a guy on a chat with a girl who thinks he is actually a she- maybe HE is a perv or gets off with the convo- who knows.

Well .....i think your real question is ......""how do you know if the other person is really a male???"" . Well checking the profile does give you any real info coze anyone can put any info/pics in the personal profile. The webcam is best solution but can be tricky somtime (i know some friends who got scamed on some video chat websites ) . Best is to ask him/her to show up to you on the webcam and ......after ask her/him to do somthing in front of the webcam (like taking off some .......:) . If other person do what u ask ......there is 99% chance to be real and.......what u see is what u get.

I know the feeling ... I do not talk to or share pics or cam with ANYONE who doesn't have a pic webcam or profile COMPLETLY filled out. Guys are less likely to do or have any of those things (if they have pic get them before YOU send...most times it will be a porn pic...dead giveaway) also another way to tell watch for how they type/talk a lot of guys don't pay attention to grammer or spelling mistakes. Also you can usually tell if its a guy because if you say your not interested or don't want to send pics or be on cam they will start begging & getting all pissed off...I hope that helps...It helps me!

The most reliable way is to ask the person questions that only a female could answer, questions that if a non-female person tried to answer they would die or their computer would blow up.

There is no way of knowing who or what you are talking to. You can take their word for it but if you are not comfortable and sense things are not quite right, don't get too personal. There are some funny people out there.

Ask them something you feel a female would know, then analyze their answer to see if it "feels" OK to you. But I suspect some guys are very good at not exposing themselves-until they want to (sorry, I couldn't resist).

On soem sites they verify credit cards or such to make sure people are who they are. but theres no real way to totally be sure I guess. just be careful
