In the prizoner of askaban Remus Lupin took it away from harry saying that Sirus Black could use it to find a way into Hogwarts,
Sirus Black helped write it so most likely already knew everything on it.

It was called the Marauder's Map. It was used to identify who was where at the point in time.

The Marauders' Map. It belonged to James Potter, Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew. They created it so they could sneak about Hogwarts without getting caught by teachers or other students. To open it, you tap the map with your wand and say, "I solemnly swear I'm up to no good." To close it, you tap it again and say, "Mischief managed."
In addition to pinpointing everyone's position inside the castle, it also shows shortcuts, secret passageways and underground tunnels to move around Hogwarts undetected. Harry used one of the tunnels to get to Honeydukes (candy shop in Hogsmeade) in 3rd year.
