I just got hire at the call center for Home Depot, does anyone here work for or know anyone working for Home Depot. I see they have great benefits, but my hours will vary. I got hired to work in the call center as an Order Writer.

I worked for Home Depot for 5 and 1/2 years. I did the phone center, cashier, returns, IMA, paint, and tool rental. I hated it. The company has gone downhill.
Benefits? Yes, but you get raped out of the *** for them (my deductions were $100 a month) for okayish medical, dental, and crappy vision insurance. There's so much political crap that goes on among management and such a lack of communication between them and the regular hourly employees.

They don't care about coverage (they spread people too thin so you can't adequately help the customers) and expect you to work your *** off. They'll ask to work overtime on, say Tuesday to cover for lack of coverage then tell you to cut your overtime by coming in later on Friday, so you really don't get overtime.

I left last November and don't miss it at all (other than my co-workers). Oh yeah, and you need a "hall pass" to be signed off by a manager if your clock punches stray 6+ mins from what it should be. I still have a couple friends that work there and they say it's gotten even worse.

I work part time for HD and I am a head cashier. They do have good benefits even for part timers. I love my job there!
