The only thing that is 100% effective against unwanted pregnancy is abstinence. Birth control and condoms are not nor have they ever been nor will they ever be 100% effective. Even if you use both together you can still get pregnant.

no--theya re not 100% effective. The only thing 100% effective is abstinence (not having sex). THe pill is 99% and many pregnancys happen that way---I got prego 2 years ago while I was on the pill. COndoms do prtotect against STD's and Aids but are not 100% effective either---they can break or maybe not on right. If ur on the pill and have multiple partners best advice is to use a condom each and every time.

I you look on the condom or any birth control package, it will say "clinically proven 99% effective when used correctly"
no method other than abstinence is 100 percent effective against pregnancy.
Yes it is true when you double up on methods, you are IN THERORY doubling your chances against pregnancy, but, if the condom slips or breaks and the pill fails.... well, you get the drift.

Before you even ask about sterilization, no, even that is not 100 pct effective, I know a couple who were BOTH sterilized and she still had a baby after the procedures.

To answer your question, yes, the chance is always there, even if it is a million to one.

There is NOTHING 100% effective in preventing pregnancy except abstinence. You can come close by combining different methods of birth control, but there will always be someone who gets pregnant despite it all.

They are 100% effective if used correctly. problem is us humans never use anything correctly. Besides most birth control says 99% to allow for mistakes. Condoms split, arent put on prperly and pills are missed or not taken at the correct time.

Last time I heard condoms are 98% effective and birth control is 99% effective.

They shouldn't advertise that they are 100% effective. I'm pretty sure the packaging says something like 94% or 96% or something like that. The only 100% is not having any sex!

Nothing is 100%. You can do and use every form of birth control in the world and if God wants you to have a baby you will. Sorry, but it's true.

They are 99% effective. The reason there are unwanted pregnancies is because people do not use them everytime.

No, the only thing 100% effective is eat an apple.

That is eat an apple instead of having sex.

That is the answer from this person in Washington, D.C.
