One of the more memorable descriptions I've heard of it is "A cop car in a tuxedo." It's the last of the rear wheel drive Impalas. It has a cult following that keeps the resale value up. Drivetrain is pretty robust, although it may have the Optispark ignition, which is prone to having water collect in it and short it out. I can't remember what years had that. But even if it does, there's a fix available for that.
If you want to buy one, make sure it's in good condition. Even though the drivetrain is fairly durable, it's still a 10 year old car. And if you get one with a ratty interior, you'll probably pay more to have it fixed than what you would have spent on getting a cleaner car.

I think it was the last good year of the Impala and I don't think they will make another one to replace the nastalgia of that vehicle. Kinda like the Oldsmobile Custlass. They made it into an old people car.

Despite it being a front-driver, its powerful 303-hp 5300 V-8 screams performance! It's one _bad_ car!
