no he's not dead yet... (see monty python and the holy grail), but the communists wouldn't want their strongest leaders seen in any state of illness ... they think it is a sign of weakness and it would give momentum to the people who would want them out of power... and as we know, the left is all about holding on to as much power as they possibly can, no matter what laws they have to pass to get it
