It sounds like a prostregen based form of birth control.
If you were having menstral irregularities, it was due to a hormone imbalance, the most common method to correct this imbalance is by prescribing birth control pills.
No, they wern't and aren't being used for birth control, but because they are hormone based pills, they are recognized by the FDA and the medical community as birth control pills, even if they are not prescribed to prevent pregnancy.
Prostregen also known as the Depo shot will cause what the drs refer to as " menstral irregularities"
spotting between cycles, heavy bleeding for prolonged periods, and with continued useage, LACK OF MENSTRAL CYCLES. weight gain, mood swings, etc.
If you are still concerned about your lack of cycles, look at the packageing, and type the actual name of the pills into a web browser.
Usually you can find what exactly the pill is used for and some basic information and side effects for this drug.
Or you can call the pharmacy that fills them and ask the pharmasist about the prescription, side effects and things to watch out for.
Good luck

OK first of all if she gave you birth control pills to regulate your periods which is what it sounds like then you should be seeing her once a year for a exam. If your doctor is not requiring this but yet she is still refilling your prescription then you need to find another doctor. This is very unsafe since there are many side effects to the pill and not having a period for 2 years is something that you definitely need to discuss with your doctor.

If you haven't had a period in two years, why haven't you asked your doctor about it? You should be seeing her every year.
She put you on birth control pills. They will regulate your period, but shouldn't take it away completely. You might be on too strong a dosage. Talk to her about a lower dose. Ask what else might be causing this. Ask your mom to set you up an appointment if you don't know where to go.

Is this a side effect of your pills? Read the papers that came with your pills, or go to a medical web site and do a search on your medication.
If it isn't listed as one of the side effects, see a doctor.
(And stop shouting, people were probably typing their answers while you posted your "additional info")

My Dear
May be your ovary loose its function completely.it may cause your general situation to work malfunctionaly. Your skin will be changed and it may be so much pigmented. Then you must be checked because of your ovary size by sonography and gos to laboratorh to check your FSH and LH hormons your pitutary gland must be checked. May be your ovary receptor down regulated.
