Like a sailor, but not at work or around people it would offend. It doesn't make me "feel" anything nor "give" me anything. It's only my vocabulary just like everyone else.
And swearing does not always stem from stupidity or anger as alot of these people seem to think.

After I left the army in a 1970, I would swear all the time. All through the years I would lose my cool and out comes the swearing. Since living in China, I have learned patience. A good wife and good environment has taken the swearing away. People just need to stop and smell the roses.

I think there's two kinds of people. There's the teenagers or those who act like them who only swear to "be cool". It's somewhat like smoking, they really think that's the best way to show the others that they should be part of the group. On the other hand there are those who only swear when they're really nervous. In a way it's better like that because at least you can somewhow get your anger out. I don't say it's a good think but I'd rather see someone swear that kick the person that made him nervous. The best example for the non-addiction of the "teen-swearers" is that at home they're not saying anything like that, so it's just an age think that can pass or remain, but only between friends usually, or at anger.

No! I feel the person doesn't know what to say and they just end up swearing for lack of a better vocabulary. When I'm around strangers and they are swearing just to be swearing I think they are trying to show off. If only they knew how ignorant it makes them sound.

Yes, I do swear. I think it is just part of my personality. However, I am trying very hard to change that and now only swear when it is directed to myself and no one is around. The Bible says " people who swear are cowards" but I dont consider myself one.

swearing has no purpose except to express anger. When people swear for no reason then it really has no purpose it gives us nothing edifying. swear words are a waste of words. A better question is why are swear words bad? I could call someone a piece of POOP and it wouldnt be as bad as if i called them a piece of SH**. WHY?

Only when I'm alone. Letting off some steam when I've done something stupid or when I hurt myself badly. I don't like swearing in front of others.

more often that i wish...sometimes i couldn't help it and sometimes i can and find myself being successfully civil in a heated argument.
otherwise, you can always hear me with quasi-tame figures-of-speech like 'just for shits and giggles', or 'get the **** outta here' (to mean, 'i don't believe it' not literally 'get the **** outta here.
point is, i try hard not to use it when emotions are high.

I Never swear, it is so unnecessary and shows a lack of vocabulary and self respect.
