When you are 5 months pregnant you get an ultrasound....chances are you can see if its a boy or girl. Just hope that she/he is not straddling your bladder. Drink plenty of water and don't pee before your ultrasound. Congrads!

Different Drs do it at different times. I know the best time to do it is between 18-22 weeks. With my first child I had a sono at 16 weeks (because of a lot of cramping) and found out it was a boy. With this pregnancy I find out in about 3 weeks when I'm 18 weeks.

Between 16 and 20 weeks depending on the position of the baby during the ultrasound, however it can take more if it is a girl...

I just had my first ultra sound today... :)
I am only 8 weeks but it was still cool, I saw the little heart beat. It was amazing to see that inside of you. WoW I am still kind of amazed....
Anyway. I asked that same question today and the tech said that it is usually around 18 to 20 weeks when you can find out the sex of the baby. But she said that sometimes the baby's are shy and don't want to revile what sex they are. SO you have to do the "Can't open till Christmas!" thing, and have to wait till the doctor say, "Congrats its a ______!!"
But Good Luck and Congrats!!!!!!!!

I was told by my OBGYN that a baby's genitals are formed at 12 weeks. Now actually seeing the genitals is a different matter. It depends on the baby's position, etc. I would recomend a 3-D ultra sound. I had one with each of my children. They are so much fun!!

18-20 weeks although the tech said that he don't like to tell the sex at 18 weeks which I was at the time. So the more weeks you are the better chance of seeing the baby gender, if he/she cooperate.
