After a tubal ligation, no matter which method performed, your body is adjusting physically and emotionally. Hormones, ovulation, and even serotonin levels are affected by this surgery, sometimes causing what is referred to as "Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome". Menstrual irregularities are common, especially if you have stopped your previous birth control method along with the surgery. It can take anywhere between 6 to 18 months for your body to re-adjust, and a "normal" cycle to resume.
If your cycles were irregular pre-surgery, this can be even more so anticipated and considered the norm. For those who used Depo-Provera as a form of birth control prior to your TL, you may have spotting for several days to weeks at at time after cessation of this method. Ultimately you know your body best and if you have any post-surgical concerns, see your Doctor right away.

I have heard that there are occasionally times when a tubal ligation can come undone. The tubes aren't "tied", they're "soldered shut".
Since you had the tubes tied, I'm wondering if you're in your late thirties or early forties. A lot of people start getting ready for menopause as early as the late thirties, and periods can get messed up. As far as I know, too, if you're bordering on menopause and get all stressed out its easier to "push the hormones over the brink" and have periods stop.
Another factor that could have you thrown off: If you took the pill until the tubal ligation was done, maybe that's part of the thing.
If you haven't a period for that long you'd be starting to feel any baby pretty close to now. If its driving you crazy enough you should see a doctor.

If you haven't had a period at all since you had your tubes tied, then I think that is the reason. Tubals do cause problems with women's cycles. I have horrible periods since my tubal. My cramping is also worse since. If it has been longer than four months since your tubal and you were having periods and have stopped, then I think you should see your doctor. where your periods normal before the tubal? The first ten years after a tubal is the period for highest failure rate. Good Luck

Go see your doctor, that is the only course of action when something is amiss.
Yes, you can still get pregnant after a tubal. I have a couple of friends who got pregnant after she had a tubal and he had a vasectomy....the doctor paid for it because he did both of their surgeries and felt bad. There is no guarantee, but it does make it highly unlikely you will get pregnant.
If you are missing periods and have had a tubal, you need to see your doctor. There are a lot of other things that can cause that besides pregnancy, and some of them can be bad, so go see your doctor.

That should be your clue to go to the doctor. And yes, you could be pregnant. I know many women who had tubals and later had babies. I even know of a couple who were both "fixed" and still had a baby. Short of having it all taken out, you can never be 100% protected from getting pregnant.

Two possibilities: the tubal ligation wasn't done right and you're pregnant (although at 4 months you should have some indication of it), or you have early menopause. Best to check w/doc or nurse practitioner.

If your tubes were tied correctly then there is no way you can be pregnant.

See your gynecologist.
They can investigate to see if there is a problem... and if there is not problem they can help you regulate your periods.
And yes,.... you could be pregnant. getting your tubes "tied" is not failproof!
