Yes. You could also be experience Braxton Hicks. Either way the tightening is a kind of contraction. Labor contractions are regular and Braxton Hick contractions aren't. Labor contractions will come at the same time intervals, like every 30 minutes. They will increase in frequency, intensity, and pain as time goes by. Braxton Hicks contractions, which are probably what you are having, will come and go. They aren't generally painful, but they can be. (Mine were) They won't increase. Wait a couple of hours. If it goes away, it was Braxton Hicks. If not, then it's labor. Don't go to a hospital until you are sure. You will be more comfortable at home than in some hospital bed.

Check here a very effective Sciatica Natural Treatment ( http://cure-sciatica.info )
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica.

Call the doctor. When I was at 37 weeks (my daughter is now 4 months), I had slight discomfort at 11:30 PM (after my water broke an hour before-- but that's not common). My dr and midwife told me to relax and try to get some sleep because the baby probably wouldn't come for a long time. By 1:30 AM I was fully dialated, 3:20 she was born...
Ok, that was a bit fast, but no reason to have the baby at home!

Yes, this could be early stages of labor but I think you are experiencing braxton hicks contractions. These can be lessened by drinking more water. When your cervix gets dehydrated and irritated it contracts. The back pain and cramping is your bodies way of signaling you that the time is nearing. Some people only experience labor in their back so if you notice that this backpain is in unisom to your stomach tightening then you need to be checked out. You could be in actual labor. Good Luck and take care of yourself.

yes you could be, you are probably having contractions, don;t worry, once they start coming about 10 minutes apart or so you should go to the hospital, but for now I suggest that you call your Dr. he/she will be able to give you better advice.
CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK !!

you don;t need to go to the ER but if you have doubts and can't get ahold of your Dr. then just go to the Labor and Delivery room at your Hospital and they'll check you there, I was having pains when I was 22 weeks and I couldn't get a hold of my Dr, so I just went to the Labor and deliver room and they were really nice they did a few tests and checked me, everything was fine so I just went home. they won;t be able to help much at the ER and if you are in labor they'll just send you to the labor room and you'll just have more bills to pay.

deffinetly go to the er. the dr doing a check on you yesterday could have started your labor. go get checked just to make sure. and even if you're not, at least you will know if everything's ok. they're used to women going in wondering and not sure. dont be embarressed, just be cautious. like they say, better safe than sorry
