Israel is punishing the lebanese people for voting hez into the lebanese government, but i did not see lebanon punishing the israelites for the voting of Aerial Sharon who terrorized lebanon in 82 and massacred 100's in the sabra and chatilla camps. So where is the defence here? As always, some answers here baffles me! :-)

"Is the value of human life less than in Lebanon than that of citizens elsewhere? Are we children of a lesser God? Is an Israeli teardrop worth more than a drop of Lebanese blood?"

The Israelis are not at war with Lebanon. It is at war with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hezbollah provoked the conflict by kidnapping two IDF members. This was an act of war. Israel, having the right to defend itself, and knowing who took the provocative action retaliated. Israel has and continues to target Hezbollah members, buildings, and weapons attempting to avoid civilian casualties. Hezbollah continues to fire rockets into Israeli towns and cities and not at military targets. It has nothing to do with Hezbollah attempting to gain political legitimacy, although I can understand any trepidation. If you are not able to differentiate between these two events I feel sorry for you. Another mind destroyed by liberal appeasers.

No. Israel is attacking Hezbollah for firing rockets at Israeli cities.
Hezbollah is hiding in Lebanon, and nobody else was willing to do anything to stop them. Israel asked the Lebanese government for years to abide by the UN directive calling for Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah.
Also, for the few weeks of the conflict, Israel kept offering to Lebanon to pull its forces out and cease fire, if only two things happened. Hezbollah returned the hostages they had taken, and Lebanon enforced a cease-fire on Hezbollah to stop the rocket attacks into Israel. Both Hezbollah and Lebanon refused, leaving Israel with no choice but to take whatever measures were necessary to stop Hezbollah.
Israel doesn't really care who gets elected where. They care about their soldiers being killed and kidnapped, and they care about thousands of rockets being fired at their cities.

Israel is attacking HAS-BOLAS in southern Lebanon, who is trying to recuperate the land taken from Palestine by Israel.
There are different standards for these two groups of people, the Jews and the Palestinians, those standards are in large part dictated by the color of their skin. Jews are mostly white while Muslims are dark, dark people get no attention from the western world. Think of Sudan, Nigeria or any other genocide ever in Africa, nobody did much more than say 'Stop that!' but if it happens in Europe to white people as in Sarajevo then the western world runs to put an end to it.
Just a fact of life.

Lebanon is punishing Israel. By voting in Hez. they in effect attacked Israel by proxy. The Lebanese know what Hez. is all about.

Israel is protecting its citizens from Hezbollah missiles.
If we continually "avenge" history - there will never be peace.
Choose.
