I'll have to do a quick side-by-side comparison:
1. Cutting in half:
SQUEEEEAAALLL!
2. Cutting down the middle (starting from rump end):
SQUEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLL!
3. Cutting down the middle (starting from head):
SQUE - ahhhh....pearly gates...Porky Pig with wings...gold-plated troughs...Paris Hilton-lookalike swinemaidens...I could get used to this...definitely...mmmmmm...
Yep, I'm going with option 3, Pig Down The Middle (Head End First), Curly Fries, No Thanks, No Ice-Cream Sundae For Me.

To me it would be more bearable to cut the damn pig in half,
cuz if you cut it down the middle you have to see the brains.
When you cut it in half all you have to see is THE GUTS!

Cutting a dead pig in half with a band saw. I don't have the guts to kill the live pig.
