Unfortunately I'm allergic to cats - Thanks to everyone who responded - each of you said get a cat - no can do! Anything else?

put some oil of peppermint (near the spices in a grocery store) on some cotton balls and leave it around in shallow containers (inside or outside) mice hate it!

Buy some Decon pellet trays at Lowes or Home Depot. I had rats in my attic and that was the only thing that worked.
Also, prevent mice from coming around by covering your trash cans with lids, keep animal food (including outside birdseed) stored when pets aren't eating. Seal off any holes in your house/apartment where mice could get in.
I've also heard of a device you can plug into the wall that emits a low frequency sound that drives mice crazy. However, it may have the same effect on dogs, so you might want to take that into consideration if you or your neighbor has one.

It ca't remember the name of this thin gbut you plug it in (like a night light) and it emits an ultrasonic noise that you can't hear but it drives the mice away. You can find it at a hardware store or Kmart.

My daughter had a Norwegian Elk Hound-- the dogs snack on mice-- she was a really good mouser, too-- they also eat other smaller than they are critters-- like cats--

Oooh!!!! I caught a mouse a few days ago! Okay, get some mouse traps ( victors are the best ) and put some peanut butter of them. Wait a few days and then BANGO!!!!!!

Get some mouse traps and put peanut butter on them they love em. they will hit the trap and BAM they are gone

Try some of the electronic sensors. I put one in every room of my house, and it really worked.
