Me!

Who else was there? Gerrard!

I don't think so. Plenty of skill but no charisma there.

Terry is a natural, charismatic leader.

I think naming S.G would cause a selection problem with Lampard as S.G has to be in the side. So Terry was a safer bet. Both would be good captains.

terry doesnt always get a game. gerrard is guaranteed a place because of his abilities.

i think terry will be more vocal but you only have to look at the liverpool european cup final in turkey to see how gerrard can inspire with his passion.

He was the natural successor to Beckham. They are polar opposites i can see Terry being more vocal on the pitch, he is hugely respected by his team mates and he seems to be able to motivate the chelsea team when they are behind.

He is the best they have at the moment. He will be less in the news then Beckham, but he will do a good job. I think Neville would be a good second choice.

Me. He is a great player, and a natural leader in the defense. Now he can be a natural leader for the whole team.

No. It should have been Gerrard. He has proved he is an inspirational leader. Remember the European cup final and the FA cup?
