You need to purchase a Router. If you wish to go Wireless you will also need to purchase an Adapter for each computer you wish to connect to the network.

Before you go out and buy anything, do yourself a favor and buy this easy to understand, uncomplicated book on Home Networking. It will take you only a day or two to learn what you need to get up and running, then will provide additional information you will find very usefull in future expansions of your network, like adding Game Console. Live TV like TiVo, and many other items.

"Absolute Beginners Guide to Home Networking" by Mark Edward Soper.

I highly reccomend this book to anyone who is new to setting up home or small business networks. As a small business owner I found it invaluable a few years ago. I only have six computers connected so I don't need a Server, though I have begun reading up on Windows Server 2003, in case my business needs a Domain Server in the future.

I assume you have a DSL modem? Buy a 4 port router unless your modem has router capabilities (I am assuming no). Follow the instructions to set up the router (can't help you here since each one is a bit different.

You're going to have to go out to your local computer store, or not-so-local internet store, and purchase what is called a router. If you plan on connecting any of the computers wirelessly, you will need to purchase a wireless router. The router basically takes your internet signal and allows multiple machines to connect to the connection.

Get a Speedstream 5100 with 4 ports. That is what I have and use.

Good Luck.

Ditto to karl_n21 - get a Linksys or DataLink router that supports either/or or both DSL and Cable.
