my car's fuel gauge is broken, I was told that it needed a fuel level sensor. And to have it done the fuel tank needed to be dropped out, I also heard that you can replace it by removing the back seat of the car. Can some one tell me which way is the correct way to make the repair?

the fuel level sensor is in the module in the tank..they call it a module since the pump and sender are all in one now..

The reason that it is not working is over time the little metal strips get worn out from the movement of the indicator...

unfortunately you need to drop the tank and change the module, dont forget the tank straps and the ring for the tank..

Hi. Most procedures don't require you to drop the tank, so that surprises me. You can check the service manual at http://www.alldata.com. (not free).
